Host a Community Vote Tripling for Harris event

Thank you for supporting MoveOn for Harris to make Vice President Kamala Harris the next president of the United States!

Host a Community Vote Tripling for Harris event in your area to get out the vote for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Democrats downballot. A community vote tripling event is when you get a few people together and meet in a high-traffic area to reach voters ahead of election day.

STEP ONE: Create your event! Set your event details, such as time and location.

Your event(s) can take place anytime between now and Election Day!

Pick a location that has heavy foot traffic that would be ideal for you and fellow MoveOn members to reach voters in support for Vice President Kamala Harris for president. You'll be checking voter registrations, asking people to vote, and getting their pledge to remind three of their friends and family to vote as well.

LOCATION TIPS:

Selecting the right location for community vote tripling is crucial to maximizing your outreach. Below are our recommendations for choosing a spot that will help you engage with the most potential Kamala supporters in a meaningful way.

    • The right location: Choose high-traffic spots where people wait, like bus stops, rather than busy intersections. Target locations that attract young, progressive Democrats in your community. The goal is to engage 6 supporters per hour in 2-4 hours.
    • The right time: Choose a time when foot traffic is high, like midday when surge voters (under 40) are out. For example, young professionals often gather at restaurants and cafés during lunch, making it a prime time to vote triple.
    • Follow regulations: A good location is open to the public and easily accessible. Make sure you choose a location where you’re legally allowed to approach people. Avoid private property unless you have permission.
    • Good examples:
      • Public transportation hubs: Train stations, bus stops, and subway entrances are great spots, as people are often waiting or passing through.
      • Universities and colleges: Students and staff are often present in large numbers during the day, making this a great location for reaching younger voters.
      • Local festivals or farmers markets: These locations bring together a diverse mix of people who are generally in good spirits and open to community engagement.
      • Sports events or concert Venues: Large gatherings like these allow you to reach hundreds, if not thousands, of people in a short amount of time.
