Donald Trump is leading our country into authoritarianism, and he's doing everything he can to stop the investigation into his team's ties to Russia. But he's not acting alone.
Trump can't obstruct the investigation without cover from his enablers in Congress, the #CoverUpCaucus.
On Presidents Day and throughout the Presidents Day congressional recess, we'll ask our members of Congress: Do you protect the Constitution, or do you protect Donald Trump? We will gather in support of the Trump-Russia criminal investigation, ask our members of Congress to call out or quit the #CoverUpCaucus, and make the demand: "Hands off the investigation—No President Is Above the Law."
Trump's own Department of Justice launched the investigation in response to attacks on our democracy and evidence of a coordinated cover-up. It's already landed multiple guilty pleas and criminal indictments. But Donald Trump has already tried once to end the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, but he was talked down. And the Republicans leading the #CoverUpCaucus are running a campaign to discredit Robert Mueller and help lay the groundwork for him to be fired or obstructed by other means. That's why the bipartisan legislation in both the House of Representatives and the Senate to protect the investigation from Trump is so important.
