Stop Deportation of Liberian DED Holders

Thousands of Liberians in the US are facing deportation on March 31st since President Trump has decided to end the Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) status for Liberians.
Sign this petition to send a message to Congress and the President that the status of these Liberians should be extended.

Why is this important?

Liberians were granted Temporary Protective Status (TPS) in 1990 during the 14-year civil war in Liberia. Many have been in the United States since then: raising their children here, working, attending school and more. Many who came here as young children have not returned to Liberia in 30 years. After a 14-year civil war and Ebola, Liberia faces extreme poverty with a troubled healthcare system and very limited employment opportunities. These Liberians will be forced to return to a Country without the infrastructure to sustain them.

Congress must pass H.R. 6 to ensure the extension of status of Liberians and the President should extend the status of the Liberians to prevent deportation.

Liberian Pathway to Citizens Passed Senate

Good News! Today the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) For Fiscal Year 2020 which includes a provision for a pathway for citizenship for DED Liberians.
This is such an amazing victory.
If President Trump signs NDAA which is more than likely, DED Liberians will have a direct pathway to citizenship.

More to come!
