Host a volunteer wave for Stacey Abrams!

On Tuesday, May 22, Georgia's voters will have the chance to make Stacey Abrams the Democratic nominee for Georgia governor.

Stacey Abrams is an inspirational, highly accomplished, MoveOn member-endorsed candidate—who could become the country's first-ever elected Black woman governor.

On Saturday, May 19, Georgia MoveOn members will gather at their local Abrams campaign offices to host volunteer waves—teams of volunteers contacting voters by phone or in person. With early voting underway, MoveOn members will be mobilizing our people power to help get out the vote and elect Stacey Abrams governor of Georgia!

Can we count on you to host a volunteer wave with fellow MoveOn members, progressive constituents, and supporters working to elect Stacey Abrams?

Hosting a wave is easy! Here's what you need to do:

  • Contact the campaign and let them know you'll be bringing a group of MoveOn members with you to volunteer. Make a plan with them about the type of voter contact activity you'll do, and the location and time of your volunteer shift.
  • If you have a hard time contacting the campaign directly, you may also want to search for existing volunteer shifts near you on the #TeamAbrams Facebook page.
  • Once you find the campaign event location and time near you, post it here and create your wave event.
  • The wave event should be one that engages volunteers in talking with voters, which has the biggest impact on an election—either a door-to-door canvass, a voter registration event, a phone bank, or some other voter outreach event.

MoveOn will give you all the support you need: We'll provide an easy-to-follow host guide, help you recruit attendees, and even send you MoveOn swag such as T-shirts or buttons.
