Host a January 31 Rally to say no to Trump's #SwampCabinet and #NoBanNoWall

On Tuesday, January 31, members of MoveOn.org and allies across the country will rally Democratic and Republican legislators to say no to Trump's #SwampCabinet and #NoBanNoWall. At these rallies, part of the growing #ResistTrumpTuesdays movement that brought out 15,000 people last Tuesday, we will tell our members of Congress and the media why Trump's cabinet is not what America wants or needs. Democrats and Republicans alike need to hear from us before this parade of greed and hate is confirmed to a Cabinet that will attack working people, civil liberties, and the environment, while benefiting fellow billionaires and corporations.

Instructions for hosts:

  • All events should be held during business hours on Tuesday, January 31, in front of (or very near) either your senator's office, OR your mayor's office/city hall.
  • For the venue, please list the office—i.e., "Senator X's Springfield Office." You can find your senators' district office locations on this map or by searching the senators' websites.
  • Lunch hour is generally a good time to hold your event to maximize attendee turnout and media coverage.
  • Please ensure the event is held on public property and not on private property (where you could be asked to leave).

      Event rules

Here are the basic requirements for event hosts:

Whether you've hosted an action before or not, we will provide you with all the information you need to hold a successful event! Hosting an action is simple and fun.  You’ll be provided with a host guide, invited to join a prep call for event hosts, and you’ll receive support to invite attendees and the media to your event. We will work hard to review all questions that are emailed to us.

By creating an event, you are agreeing to serve as the host of the meeting. Your responsibilities as host include:

      • Arranging that all the necessary materials are brought to the event (you can ask other participants for help).
      • Contacting and communicating with the people who participate in your event. We will encourage attendees not to attend an event where the host has not confirmed their participation.
      • Filing a quick post-meeting report.
