Survey Questions
Which campaigns should MoveOn's top priorities right now? (Select up to three campaigns.)
Supporting #BlackLivesMatter protests and demands.
MoveOn members have chipped in nearly $2 million to Black-led groups doing this critical work. But there is so much more we must do, including: working to defund overfunded and militarized police departments, and investing instead in real solutions for community safety; public education; and more.
Gearing up to win the general election in November.
We have an opportunity to elect new leadership and organize for a transformative future, grounded in racial and economic justice. We can turn our hopes and dreams into concrete policies, including a living wage, paid parental leave, gun safety, climate justice, citizenship for Dreamers, and an end to police brutality and mass incarceration.
Making Congress pass coronavirus relief packages that put people before profits.
After forcing through corporate bailouts for their donors, Mitch McConnell and Republicans in Congress are now blocking critically needed relief for everyday Americans. Trillions in relief for ordinary people is needed immediately.
Save our elections in order to defeat Trump.
Trump and the GOP have made clear they will assault voting rights at every turn: reducing the number of polling stations, recruiting armed supporters to intimidate voters, and challenging the validity of vote by mail. We need to take measures to make sure voting is accessible, voters know their rights, and vote early and safely to overcome GOP suppression and defeat Trump and the GOP.
Protecting Social Security.
Trump is trying to chip away at Social Security by pushing for payroll tax cuts which would bankrupt the program, and he has an evil plan to force Americans who receive coronavirus relief payments to pay them back through delaying their access to Social Security benefits. With your help, MoveOn will fight back and educate seniors about this travesty—and ensure that Republicans are kicked out of office in November.
As we gear up for the elections in November, and many people remain at home to stop the spread of the coronavirus, TV and online ads will be a key way to reach and persuade voters. Getting our messaging right is going to be crucial. Which of the following ads do you think will be most likely to drive down Trump’s popularity with voters in battleground states? (Select up to three ads.)
Ads that expose Trump's dismal record on the coronavirus pandemic
and show the bad decisions he and his administration made that led to the U.S. having the most infections and deaths of any country in the world.
Ads that confront Donald Trump's racism
and disregard for Black people, Latinx people, immigrants, and other frontline communities. He removed peaceful protesters with tear gas to have a photo op, put up a racist border wall and separated families at the border, is refusing to consider refugee applications during the coronavirus pandemic, and is working, as we speak, to permanently weaken America's political asylum process.
Ads that educate voters about Trump and McConnell's repeated efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Many voters don't know that Trump came within one vote of repealing ACA, with no plan for a replacement. Imagine the devastating impact if that had happened before the pandemic hit!
Ads that expose Trump's ongoing efforts to end Social Security.
Trump is trying to chip away at Social Security by pushing for payroll tax cuts which would bankrupt the program, and he has an evil plan to force Americans who receive coronavirus relief payments to pay them back through delaying their access to Social Security benefits.

Right now, we’re making crucial decisions about which big tactical bets we should prioritize to win in November. Which investments should we prioritize? (Select as many as you’d like.)
Running a massive, sustained campaign to fight back against Facebook's anti-democratic policies
that allow politicians, including Trump, to lie to voters with impunity—and working to dismantle the fake news networks that propel disinformation into the social media news feeds of millions of American voters.
Making November's election pandemic-proof, by working to ensure that every American has access to a vote-by-mail ballot.
The GOP plans to employ 50,000 people at the polls—some of whom will be armed—to intimidate Democratic voters across critical swing states, and the GOP intends to spend at least $20 million on nefarious lawsuits designed to suppress the vote. Combine that with a second wave of the coronavirus, and it’s clear that ensuring vote-by-mail when safe in-person voting is not an option will be absolutely crucial in November.
Inspiring "high-potential voters" to vote, with a new method that is FIVE TIMES as effective as phone calls and door-to-door canvassing.
MoveOn's data wizards are hard at work, identifying 7 million high-potential voters—new voters, voters of color, low-income voters, and others who tend to be ignored by get-out-the-vote campaigns—across 10 battleground states. We're planning to reach them to inspire them to vote in November through a strategy called "Vote Tripling," which relies on research showing that "social influence"—encouragement and accountability from one's family and friends—is the best way to increase voter turnout, particularly among voters age 30 and under. Studies have found that if you know that your close friends and family are voting and if those people follow up with you about your plans to vote, you are far more likely to actually cast a ballot than if you receive a call from a volunteer or even a knock at the door from a canvasser.
Ending Mitch McConnell's stranglehold on the Senate.
We won't succeed by just defeating Trump; we must also end GOP control of the Senate, which is why MoveOn is also working hard in Senate battleground states including Arizona, Maine, and Colorado, to flip control of the Senate on the same night that we defeat Trump.
The New York Times
reports that Mitch McConnell refuses to provide any federal aid for states that are reeling from the coronavirus pandemic. Because of this, "it's looking increasingly likely that tens of millions of Americans will in fact suffer extreme hardship and that there will be devastating cuts in services." In addition, McConnell is refusing to pass meaningful policing reforms in response to protesters in the streets.
If Biden defeats Trump but Republicans keep the Senate majority and McConnell remains Senate Majority leader, do you think McConnell will let Congress pass critically needed aid for states and pass police abuse reforms, a Social Security expansion, the Green New Deal, or other policies that put people over profits?
Yes, I believe that McConnell will have a change of heart and finally compromise with Democrats to back popular progressive policies.
No, I believe that McConnell will continue to block popular progressive policies, even with Biden in the White House.
