"Save the Post Office": Remote Options
We are committed to maintaining public health measures to practice safe protesting during the pandemic. If you do not feel comfortable attending an in-person event, here are three ways to participate remotely!
1. Join the virtual rally
Text TWEET to 668366 to join the social media flock that will help make #SaveThePostOffice trend on Twitter all weekend!
2. Call your senators
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is testifying to the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Friday and the House Oversight committee on Monday! Let your senator know that you demand accountability and call on DeJoy to resign. Dial 844-329-6087 during business hours to let them know! Here's a sample script you can use:
SAMPLE CALL SCRIPT
Hi, this is {YOUR NAME}, a resident of {CITY/TOWN}. I'm very upset about the service changes Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has made to the U.S. Postal Service. We need them to be rolled back immediately. I'm asking senator {NAME} to call for DeJoy to "restore the machines and resign from his job"—to undo the damaging changes he's made as postmaster general, and to step down. I ask that you do everything you can to save the post office from Trump.
3. Attend solo and post a selfie
Anyone anywhere can participate at the nearest post office, even without an event! Check out the Materials page for signs and go take a photo outside your local post office anytime you can! You can then post that photo to social media Saturday at 11 a.m. local time, while others are out there at local events.
